Join us for a special, free outdoor pop-up class celebrating the grand opening of the Volunteer Park Amphitheater with Volunteer Park Trust!
Dance Church will kick off the evening of Summer Series at the Amphitheater with a class on the new amphitheater stage! Afterward, roll out a blanket and stick around for performances by local dance companies, LucienPostlewaite, Whim W'Him, and The Seattle Project.
What to know:
Dance Church® is an all-levels movement class that offers a fun and inclusive approach to dancing. Designed for people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and identities, Dance Church is a communal space for people who want to move their bodies.
The teacher leads this 70ish minute class in a series of movement cues, accompanied by a curated playlist of multi-genre pop music. The format is open but guided throughout. No previous training is required, but open-mindedness is a prerequisite.
The Amphitheater is located on the West side of the park, north of the Volunteer Park Reservoir. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class, and no later than 5 minutes after. We will begin check in at 5:00pm. We encourage you to pre-register but walk-ups will be welcomed. Class will begin at 5:30pm.
Please note, there will be capacity of 75 people dancing on the amphitheater stage, but plenty of space to dance it out on the lawn!
