Black History Month: Week 1

Dance Church remains committed to broadening our understanding and awareness of the inequities faced by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, and to exploring ways we can offer meaningful support.

Our organization is guided by firm commitments to actively uphold our mission, vision, and values, integrate accessibility and accountability into our operations, and foster inclusivity for all individuals.

Join us as we celebrate Black History Month throughout the month of February. This month, we focus our attention on uplifting the Black community through event and performance engagements, highlighting Black dance artists, as well as:

  • Free class for BIPOC folks for the month of February
  • Black music and dance diasporic research from past to present led by the DC teachers over the years
  • A blog post from Seattle Dance Church Teacher Symone Sanz
