This year we are encouraging our staff, teachers, and community members to participate within their local communities and attend events to honor and celebrate Black existence and history.
We’ve created a list of events in our current IRL cities to attend during the month of February. Bring a friend, and check them out!

- African Film Festival: The Cascade Festival of African Films shows us Africa through the eyes of Africans, rather than a vision of Africa packaged for Western viewers. More info

- Black Queer Poetry Reading: Cuties Los Angeles Presents Readings at Sunset: A Queer Poetry Night. Readings at Sunset is a live poetry night happening every 2nd Sunday at The Plant Chica. More info

- Free Concert with the Harlem Chamber Players: The Schomburg Center presents the 15th Annual Black History Month Celebration with music by Duke Ellington, Don Byron, Aruán Ortiz, Valerie Coleman, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor performed by the HCP. More info
