Karl Watson

Born in Cleveland, OH, Karl is now a Seattle-based dance artist. He received his BFA in Dance Performance from Butler University in 2012. Karl lived and danced in Chicago after graduation, dancing for Luna Negra Dance Theater and Visceral Dance Chicago. Currently, Karl dances for Whim W’Him in Seattle.
When Dancing
Karl loves the shared experience of movement. Whether in a ballet class, improvising during creative process, or clapping during step touch at Dance Church, Karl thrives on the community dance creates. Witnessing transformation in himself and others keeps dance at the center of Karl’s life.
When not Dancing
In warmer weather, you can find Karl relaxing in his inflatable kayak on Lake Washington. Indoors, Karl has a passion for podcasts, the news, and all things streaming. He also volunteers time for political/civic campaigns. While his love for travel is on hold, Karl is busy dreaming up future adventures.
