Announcing Cornish+ Pop Up Series

Dance Church is pleased to announce our newest partnership series with Cornish+ School for the Creative Arts in Seattle. Cornish+ School for Creative Arts is Cornish’s home for creativity in community offering over 40 studio-based, in-person courses for youth and adults taught by Cornish instructors in art, design, music, theater, and dance.

Dance Church and Cornish+ will be hosting a series of Dance Church Pop Ups in the Spring and Summer of 2023 at the Cornish Commons located in the Denny Triangle neighborhood.

Dance Church® is an all-levels movement class that offers a fun and inclusive approach to dancing. Designed for people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and identities, Dance Church is a communal space for people who want to move their bodies.

Cornish+ School for Creative Arts, is Cornish’s home for creativity in community. Cornish+ will offer over 40 studio-based, in-person courses for youth and adults taught by Cornish instructors in art, design, music, theater, and dance. Cornish+ full launch will be Fall 2023.

The teacher leads this 70ish minute class in a series of movement cues, accompanied by a curated playlist of multi-genre pop music. The format is open but guided throughout. All levels, body types, identities and genders. No previous training is required, but open-mindedness is a prerequisite. Get lost dancing together — it’s the dance party you wish you had last night. 

What to know →

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class, and no later than 5 minutes after. Pre-registration is required, no walk-ups allowed. Class will be on the second floor of the Cornish Commons building, directly up the stairs and straight ahead. Cornish Commons is a college dormitory setting, we please ask that you are mindful of the space, and please only use the restrooms, and the dancing space while in the building.

What should I bring →

  • Dance-able workout clothing
  • Face mask (optional)
  • We recommend taking class in socks or bare feet. If you need to wear sneakers, please be mindful of those around you.
  • Water bottle
