Dance Church is excited to join Summer Free For All at Washington Park for an outdoor dance experience at the Rose Garden Amphitheater. Class begins at 6:00 pm and will be followed by dance performances by NW Dance Project and Ballet Papalotl.

About the event:

Dance Church® is an all-levels movement class that offers a fun and inclusive approach to dancing. Designed for people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and identities, Dance Church is a communal space for people who want to move their bodies.

The teacher leads this 45ish minute class in a series of movement cues, accompanied by a curated playlist of multi-genre pop music. The format is open but guided throughout. All levels, body types, identities and genders. No previous training is required, but open-mindedness is a prerequisite. Get lost dancing together — it’s the dance party you wish you had last night.

What to know:

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before class to find a comfortable spot in the lawn, an prepare to have fun and dance!

What should I bring?

Dance-able workout clothing We recommend taking class in socks or bare feet, if you need to wear sneakers, please be mindful of others. Water bottle Hat or head covering to protect from sun

Accessibility Notes Parking with ADA placards Parking with regular disabled placard/plates: If you have a disabled placard or disabled plates from any state, you MUST pay to park during enforcement hours (9:30 am to 8:00 pm). Parking with an Oregon Wheelchair User or Wounded Warrior placard: If you have an Oregon Wheelchair User disabled placard that clearly has the words "Wheelchair User" or "Wounded Warrior" written, you may park without payment for an unlimited amount of time. Rates: $2 per hour, $8 daily maximum. Parking Kitty Zone 401-411 Rates and hours may change during events. Park gates lock at 10:00 pm, except in Lots A, B, and C. Overnight parking is only allowed up to one night in Lots A, B, and C. Kingston Drive and Rose Garden Way gates open at 6:30am Fischer Lane gate opens at 7:30am Park gates may open later or closer earlier without notice.

Post Class Rituals:

There will be a dance performance on the stage of the Park Rose Garden Amphitheater by NW Dance Project and Ballet Papalotl.
