Edgewater Arts Festival is one of the fastest growing Chicago arts festivals with juried art show, live music, dance activations, kids activities, beer garden and more! Its mission is to enhance the Edgewater District of Chicago to assist existing businesses, showcase and support local artists for the enjoyment of the community, and to establish Edgewater as a premier cultural destination in Chicago.

About Dance Church:

Dance Church® is an all-levels movement class taught by professional dance artists that offers a fun and inclusive approach to dancing. Designed for people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and identities, Dance Church is a communal space for people who want to move their bodies.

The teacher leads this 60ish minute class in a series of movement cues, accompanied by a curated playlist of multi-genre pop music. The format is open but guided throughout. No prior dance experience necessary, but open mindedness is a prerequisite.

Dance Church classes are offered in dance spaces across the country. Our mission is to bring the joy and release of dance to every body, while supporting dance artists and partner organizations, and making connections between class takers and the dance world.

What to know:

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class, and no later than 5 minutes after. We encourage you to pre-register.

What should I bring?

Dance-able workout clothing We recommend taking class sneakers since this class is outdoor on concrete Water bottle

The location is ADA accessible via ramp, with ADA accessible restrooms on site.

Street parking available in the vicinity.

Post Class Rituals:

Join the festival programming and music scheduled on the stage after Dance Church. Performances for Sunday are: Mariachi Sirenas; Senn High School's Dust Bunnies; Clamor & Lace Noise Brigade; Mariah Colon; Beats Y Bateria.
