Laura Carella

Laura Carella was born and raised in Canada and comes from Italian heritage. She graduated from SUNY Purchase with a BFA in Dance and minor in Arts Management. She has worked and performed with The YC and Perfume Genius on their collaboration The Sun Still Burns Here. Laura co-created the collective Roughouse and performed in Solo: A Festival of Dance at On The Boards in February 2020.
When Dancing
When dancing you can experience Laura vibrating as her highest self. Laura loves performing, connecting to self, space and people. Performance is her untouchable place, where everything and nothing makes sense and that’s what keeps her going. She dives deeper into that every day on and off the dance floor.
When not Dancing
When not dancing you can find Laura facetiming with her friends and family, staring out the window or grounding herself in nature. Laura loves eating good food, listening to music and laughing with friends. She enjoys hot baths, peppermint tea and long walks in the sunshine. You can find her with her Dad’s old camcorder capturing life all around.
